He completed a Bachelor of Biomedical Science at James Cook University (Townsville) in 2013, followed by a Bachelor of Laws (Graduate Entry) at Queensland University of Technology (Brisbane) in 2016. Francois was admitted to the Supreme Court of Queensland in May of 2017. He worked at a property and conveyancing firm whilst completing practical legal training for 6 months prior to working at a medical billing and collections company, managing patient-direct communications, prepayments and debt collections for a year and a half.
Francois was born in South Africa (Cape Town), migrating to Australia (Rockhampton) with his family in 2002. His family still speaks Afrikaans at home and have visited their home country on several occasions.
He also enjoys the arts, with interests in music and visual art. Francois is a singer, guitarist and saxophonist, and enjoys painting on the odd occasion. Being South African-born, he is a passionate Springbok supporter and enjoys most other sports including, but not limited to cricket, tennis, beach volleyball and mountain biking.
