Thoshan graduated from Bond University with a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Business in May 2022. During university, he interned and gained valuable experience in many different fields of law including property, personal injury, intellectual property, family, and the commercial sector. Furthermore, he volunteered at a local community legal centre on the Gold Coast for over 2 years and gained a strong passion for pro-bono legal work. He completed his practical legal training towards the end of 2022 at Bond University and started working as a law graduate at a Strata/Property law firm. Thoshan was admitted to the Supreme Court of Queensland in February 2023 and is also a solicitor of the High Court of Australia.
Thoshan and his family moved from Sri Lanka (Colombo) to Australia (Wagga Wagga) in 2005. He moved from Wagga Wagga to Townsville and finally to Brisbane where he and his family has stayed for over 10 years.
He is an avid enjoyer of Formula 1 and loves all things related to racing and cars. He is a proud Mercedes supporter, and you will often find him being the designated uber driver for his friends. Thoshan loves soccer over other sports because he used to play soccer and futsal during school – he is a big supporter of Chelsea FC. He used to play piano during school, so he is trying to learn that again slowly. As a Sri Lankan, you would expect him to like Cricket, but unfortunately that is not the case.
