Associations & Community

Since being founded in 1995, FCLawyers has adopted a core value to always be looking for avenues to become involved and give back to our local community.

The team at FC Lawyers represent many organisations, charities and sporting teams throughout Queensland and collectively as a team, we are very proud to provide our assistance to the community.

At FC Lawyers it is one of our core values to always be looking for ways in which we can get involved and give back to our local community. This support and involvement ranges from sport, community groups and charities.

The associations we currently support are:

The International Network of Boutique Law Firms (INBLF) has a presence in more than 40 countries throughout the United States of America, Canada, South America, Europe, Asia, Australia, and Africa. Each INBLF law firm is screened to guarantee that all lawyers adhere to the highest professional standards and has achieved local and regional preeminence in their practice areas. Members firms are some of the most prestigious in their jurisdictions and members can draw on legal resources around the world to serve their clients. Ferguson Cannon Lawyers is proud to be the only member firm in Australia. Find out more on the INBLF by click here

November is a great month for the males at Ferguson Cannon Lawyers as it provides the team a chance to grow a moustache whilst raising money for a worthy cause. The money raised by our team provides vital funds and promotes awareness for prostate and testicular cancer and mental health in Australia.

Point Zero5

The PointZero5 Spinal and Medical Research Campaign was initiated by leading Personal Injury Lawyers, in conjunction with Mr Peter Yeo. Peter Yeo was one of Australia's outstanding Australian Rules Football Players, playing in the 1960's and early 1970's with Port Adelaide & Sturt in South Australia, and Melbourne in Victoria. He is acknowledged as the first Australian Rules Player to be on a contract. Not only was Peter a Sporting Identity, but he is known as one of the best advertising and marketers internationally. Peter has also been quoted as an "Icon in the Tourism Industry" creating numerous and memorable Australian campaigns. Peter became a Quadriplegic in early July 2002.

His idea was that Solicitors, Barristers, Successful Plaintiffs and the General Public commit .05 of their professional fees, award, or income to the PointZero5 Spinal & Medical Research Campaign via the Princess Alexandra Hospital Foundation to enrich the lives of people who have suffered a spinal injury. Donations to the Campaign support People with Disabilities in need, who have suffered a spinal injury and are not able to receive compensation, to receive Basic Equipment, & have a better life - together with assisting on-going research Internationally.

RECOGNISE is the people’s movement to recognise Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in our Constitution. Tens of thousands of Australians from all walks of life have already declared their support to recognise the first Australians in our founding document. Recognise want to see fairness and respect at the heart of our Constitution, and to remove discrimination from it. The goal is a more united nation. This is a chance for Australia to acknowledge the first chapter of our national story, and to forge our future together - after so many chapters apart. The Ferguson Cannon Lawyers team have developed a Reconciliation Action Plan which you can read about here

Ferguson Cannon Lawyers are happy to support Rosies as they provide unconditional acceptance and friendship to people who are marginalised within our community. Rosies mission is to offer times of presence with others through street outreach, children's and drug court support, youth detention visitation and prison outreach.

Safe Streets

Safe Streets support people of all ages in our community through community projects, self-awareness and funded projects when practical who may be at increased risk of perpetrated and experienced violence and aggression. The organisation achieves this through coordinated special projects to deliver services, education and training in the areas of public safety to persons otherwise unable to afford or obtain access to such services, develop the necessary organisational structures of volunteers so they may provide services in personal safety and other support areas and sustain the program in coming year. The aim is to improve the self-awareness and knowledge of personal safety through the provision of effective public communication through focused programs for all ages and using the most relevant communication methods such as seminars/workshops, printed literature, the internet, social media and other media as appropriate. Glenn Ferguson Managing Director is proud to be the Chairman of this organisation and is assisted by Chloe Kopilovic.

The Salvation Army

The Salvation Army offers caring support for every problem “from the cradle to the grave.” Our services are as wide-ranging and diverse as the areas of need in the community, like an umbrella over Australia’s social problems. Ferguson Cannon Lawyers actively supports the salvation army and in particular one of its major fundraising events, the Red Shield Appeal.
